Online classes a great success, additional class offering on Wednesday!

Dear friends, Today we held our first online class with Zoom, and it was great! By request, I will offer two classes Wednesday at 10:30 am and Noon, Mountain Time, which is our usual schedule.

Zoom classes totally work!

Dear friends,

Today we held our first online class with Zoom, and it was great! By request, I will offer two classes Wednesday at 10:30 am and Noon, Mountain Time, which is our usual schedule.

If you have doubts about online practice (I sure did!), I can reassure you somewhat as I tried it myself today and got great comfort from the familiarity and good memories! And I can share this quote from Kim C: “Class online was just like class in person with you.  It felt like you were just right there!”

You MUST preregister for these classes by emailing me at least 30 minutes before the start of class (the earlier the better!) so that I can send you the Zoom link that allows you to join the meeting, and also let you know what equipment you will need.  I will be recording these classes too, so if you are unable to attend live please contact me.

Once you have received the link, please click on it or visit https://zoom.us/join to enter the meeting id.  If you have not used Zoom before, allow 5 to 10 minutes before the class starts to download the necessary app or extension.  All you need is a phone or laptop with a camera so I can see you while you practice and deliver the personal guidance you are accustomed to and deserve!  Yoga equipment can easily be improvised at home with rolled blankets or firm pillows for bolsters, any kind of belt or scarf for a yoga belt, thick books for yoga blocks, and any floor surface – you don’t even need a yoga mat if you have a carpeted floor!

I will be sending another email with a more complete schedule and further instructions as soon as possible!  The class times will be similar to what we have been doing, but not necessarily the exact same – I am in contact with some other organizations about teaching in their online platforms as well. Please know that your punch card continues to be valid, and I will freeze or extend any monthly packages or other cards if you find the online format isn’t your thing.  If you attend the class online, I will record it as a punch.

Many of you have asked me how to make payments for these classes.  I will be adding a Venmo and/or PayPal account soon and I am exploring virtual punch card software, but please bear with me as I get up to speed with all this. If anything goes wrong or you have trouble with the technology, I will credit the class back to you.

Sending you all peace, hope, and wellness!
Michelle

Watch the HyperExtenders Anonymous Manifesto if you need a humor break!

We, the members of Hyper Extenders Anonymous, do solemnly swear to never do the following SI joint destroying, hamstring shredding, and lumbar compressing actions:

Fold forward with a flat back, stretch our hamstrings, blossom our buttocks, lift our knee caps, adjust our sitting bones, or move the flesh of our buttocks back and apart.  We promise to cease and desist from such activities, and also to never instruct or facilitate those activities in others.

We will refrain from performing standing poses or arm balances on other people’s spines or thighs during such forward flexions including:  baddha konasana, upavistha konasana, and pascimottanasana.

Through acknowledgement, apology, and humor we will liberate ourselves and our students from any negative emotions or memories associated with the above actions, such as shame, guilt, trauma, regret, self-hatred in all its forms, and internal conflict. We will instead see this as part of our evolution, and an asset to our further teaching and understanding.

For here and ever after, we promise to:

Flex our spines, fold at our groins, improve our ankle mobility, and to allow a spiraling rotation of our femur heads in the hip sockets.
